Each year I try to think about what the Chinese Zodiac animal symbolizes and how it will relate to my life. For the year of the horse, I'm of course a little biased since I'm a horse women, but I'm also excited about the symbolic meaning of this animal.
The horse in Chinese symbolizes speed, perseverance and adventure. I forsee this year to be full of travel, career ventures both Jack and myself, . Wherever his career takes him will surely have a great impact on my life.
The characteristics of people who were born in the year of the horse are said to be cheerful, independent, determined, popular, quick-witted, changeable, earthy, perceptive, talkative, agile mentally and physically; magnetic, intelligent, astute, flexible and open-minded. They can also be fickle, anxious, rude, gullible, stubborn, lacking stability and perseverance.
My brother is a horse and he's certainly one, through in through. An athlete who lives in the white mountains as a tour guide, a member of the Appalachian rescue team and an all together environmentalist, of sorts. He rock climbs, ice climbs, hikes, and snowboards.
In retail, Chinese New Year is often represented in creative presentations. The recent growth of the Chinese and Eastern markets in addition to the large number of Chinese shoppers in the States, especially within the luxury goods industry fuels the attention. This year, Bergdorf Goodman chose to utilize the theme of the horse and the symbolic color red, which represents good fortune and happiness. Of course in BG fashion, they put a slight spin on the obvious theme and modernized the entire design with graphic lines and patterns.
May we all enjoy adventures, and success through perseverance. Thanks for reading.
