Wednesday's wants, is more like Wednesday's Boughts this week because I actually bought something that I wanted! A few weeks ago I decided that my reading spot needed a little bit of light. The issue however, (there's always an issue) is that there is no floor space to place a floor lamp and the wall space is very narrow. My solution: to use a small, industrial style, accordion/scissor lamp - let's just call them scissor lamps to make things easier. But the thinking is that this lamp can be pulled out for use and pushed back to be out of sight.
I did a little bit of research on these styles of lamps and currently there are only a few companies who are making them within reasonable price points. The first one is the Robert Abbey lamp from Euro Style Lighting. For the price $154.91, this lamp is really interesting. The proportions of the shade are remoniscent of the Christian Dell lamp that was designed in the early '30s, he was the master of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus. The other brand that is the more expensive lower budget model from Restoration Hardware. This lamp is $219.00, it comes in two finishes and its the most traditional looking of the three lamps. My last choice, was definitely the cheapest of them all, at $22.50. This lamp is from Micro Mark, it's simple, its straightforward and the perfect size for my reading nook. SOLD.
